Lors de cette journée, les délégations des pays auront fait connaissance. Des candidats se présentent pour faire partie des six représentants de la jeunesse auprès de l’OMMS.
L’introduction aura permis de rappeler que lors du précédent forum, en 2011, 25 résolutions ont été présentées et prises en compte par l’OMMS.
Ahmad Alhendawi, secrétaire général de l’ONU auprès de la jeunesse, a pu faire un discours, dont tu trouveras le contenu livetweeté ci-dessous. En résumé :
Vous pouvez être fiers mais vous devez aussi être vigilants sur la responsabilité de votre génération (…) J’ai aussi été scout. (…) Les Nations Unies et les scouts doivent continuer à travailler ensemble.

Les Nations Unies et les scouts partagent une longue histoire de coopération, qui remonte à 1947.Chaque région a pu également présenter aux autres régions les enjeux qui la concerne et leur vision de l’implication de la jeunesse dans la société.

Sens-tu l’énergie dans l’air ? L’énergie de presque 200 scouts délégués de 80 pays.Le scoutisme fait bien plus que juste s’adapter et répondre aux changements externes. Le scoutisme est aussi promoteur des changements de la société.
Les projets lancés dans le cadre de l’initiative « Scouts Messengers » (Messengers of Peace) sont des exemples de ce que nous pouvons mettre oeuvre et faire la différence.
Comme Mr Mandela l’a dit un jour : « l’éducation est l’arme la plus puissace que vous pouvez utiliser pour changer le monde ».
Je vous enjoins de profiter de cette opportunité pour contriber au futur de l’Organisation Mondiale du Mouvement Scout.
